Well, well, well... (again)

Well, Well, Well, another year has come and gone and there have been big changes with Collector’s Edge this past year. As of this writing, CEC (Collector’s Edge Comics) has won, for the 4th year in a row, BEST COMIC SHOP OF THE YEAR by the Shepherd Express Reader’s Poll. Thank you to all that voted for us. We thought for sure that we didn't win because we totally dropped the ball on notifying our loyal customer base that the poll was even going on. Heck, I didn't even vote. I guess the cream always rises to the top anyway. A thank you goes our to our brothers in comics retailing for keeping us on our toes to provide the best customer service we can. A hero is measured by the caliber of the villains he faces and we have high caliber competitors.

Have you seen the SOUTH store lately? Our awning should be up next week and the floor is done. SOUTH is almost to where I envisioned it over 6 years ago when I took over the day-to-day operations. I think Jef is smiling somewhere. After this length of time I can finally say that I have gone through every comic and magazine in the building. Everything is organized. Did I mention it took me 6 years plus to get this done? All in time for the NEW YEAR’S SALE this January 7th (2007). I’ve picked up a ton of gems this year so bring your want lists.

If you said, “hey, where’s the Bossman? I never see him working the counter anymore” you’d be right. The amount of time I’m putting into the Edge to keep all the plates in the air is taking its toll. I’d really like to sit on the couch of my stores once in awhile and talk to our customers. I love to hear what we’re doing right and what we can do to improve CEC. Hopefully it won’t be another year before I can post a note to you all. Now that I have more time maybe…
